Easy Loose Cabled Cowl Pattern FREE

This pattern is a simple, straightforward, easy project great for new knitters (great way to learn cables). It knits up fast, easy, looks impressive to non-knitters, and is a satisfying quickie.

The cowl is intended to be a loose weave that moves and drapes a little. This is accomplished by working with needles that are 3mm larger than the yarn’s recommended size. As you work it it will not appear to be very loose, but it will relax significantly after blocking. Adding vinegar to the water while blocking helps to stabilize the colour (the blue needed it, other colours may not).

Size

After blocking & lying flat: 17” wide (34” in circumference), 16” high.
